Meidän koulumme
Luxemburgin Suomi-koulu on toiminut jo vuodesta 1984 ja sen tarkoituksena on ylläpitää ja kehittää Luxemburgissa ja lähialueilla asuvien lasten suomen kielen taitoa sekä vaalia suomalaisia perinteitä ja kulttuuria.
Esikoulussa suomea opetellaan leikin, laulun, askartelun ja ihan vain kivan yhdessäolon kautta. Kouluryhmissä opetellaan suomea myös oppikirjojen ja muun kirjallisen ja sähköisen materiaalin avulla.
Suomi-kouluun tullaan tapaamaan toisia suomalaislapsia ja suomalaisperheitä, vietämme yhdessä peristeisiä suomalaisia juhlia ja merkkipäiviä. Lisäksi retkeilemme ja liikumme yhdessä, sillä kieltähän oppii aivan huomaamatta kun mukavassa kaveriporukassa jutellaan ja mietitään maailman menoa! Pikkuruinen Luxemburg sijaisee aivan Euroopan sydämessä ja niinpä Luxemburgin Suomi-kouluun tullaankin Luxemburgin lisäksi myös Ranskasta, Saksasta ja Belgiasta.
Kokoonnumme noin joka toinen lauantai Luxemburgin kansainvälisellä koululla (International School of Luxembourg - ISL).

Our School
The Finnish School of Luxembourg is a club type extracurricular activity aimed at maintaining and improving the Finnish language skills of the Finnish children living in Luxembourg and the surrounding regions. It was established in Luxembourg in 1984 and is part of a network of over 150 Finnish Schools around the world.
The school meets at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) in Merl in Luxembourg town on average every second Saturday morning from 10.00 to 12.30. In addition to learning the language and culture in the classroom setting, we also aim to provide out of classroom activities close to Finnish culture, like trips to iceskating rink, nature trails, and of course a genuine Christmas party with Santa straight from Finnish Lapland and a summer party close to the Midsummer. Each year we aim also to have a cultural show from Finland, like a band or theatre.
The school is open for any children with any connection to Finland and Finnish language, there is not entry level language requirement. Currently there are three groups for 3-10 years old children, each with a teacher and an assistant.
The school is run by a registered association Amis de l'Ecole Finlandaise au Luxembourg ASBL (No F10077), formed by the parents. It is financed by contributions from the parents and it also receives a subsidy from the Finnish Board of Education. The yearly fee is 200 euros for 18 sessions, including the group insurance.
